This Apartment was designed for Khartoum, Sudan. It has 5 floors with a total of seven apartments.
Concepts and Amenities
1. The floors are split in the plan so the apartments have a stair and vertical space in the interior. This planning allows for parking the half sunk first level.
2. Ventilation was an important concept therefore cross ventilation and a vertical stack for the air to flow to the top of the complex naturally.
3. An Office Area was provided on the lowest level.
4. The windows are set deep into the wall to eliminate the unpleasant heat gain of the Khartoum climate.
5. Studies of the exterior facade are shown here as a means of shading the building this was a strategy to provide natural cooling.
