Marunouchi Hotel was commisioned by the hotel owner as he was searching for a design that explored the look of a quasi-classical style. Thus this computer graphics image served the clients imagery especially the blue shaded light eminating at the mid-level of the tower.
The Olympic Museum was designed for Nagano Ken in Japan. It was a proposal for a client after the success of the winter Olympics that was held there in 1996.
The Nagashima Amusment park was a design project that was in search of a unique form while using computer graphics and it was the discovery of a unique process to generate the interior mobius type space. The use of the computer was vital to this discovery. Generated using Maya Software on an SGI system.
A famous Buddhist Temple in Kyoto called Toji has an ornate roofed southern gate. This project was undertaken to illustrate the potential of compter graphics in representing complex interconnected geometries.
A design project in which the image was used to illustrate the apartment complex in its setting for a client from Sudan. Initally several exterior facdes were explored to explain to the client various concepts. This was the final image that was chosen.
This Office Building was a quick facade concept for a potential project. It was designed and concieved in a day and the model illustrates the quick visualizing capabilities of 3D computer graphics as a sketch tool. No background is expressed as it is floating in an ethereal conceptual realm.
This project was a visualization of a concept designed by the Sumitomo Re-estate group as a competition entry for a sales building for a mansion project.
A house design in Nagasaki in which computer graphics were used as a design tool and also to show to the client the atmosphere of the design. The contextural photographic image is provided to give a sense of its reality. The vivid sky color comes from the Nagasaki horizon and is also reflected in the window glass.
A house more like an apartment that was designed for a client in Sudan. The exterior images were provided as a means to visualize their project and also as a design tool for our office. The background setting gives a clear indication of the surrounding environment as this is located in the capital Khartoum.
The design for this project was done by a firm in Malaysia. They requested an image based on a rough AutoCad drawing that they provided. Several images were created this being the overall with a fictitious surrounding applied.
An interesting project that was also recieved as AutoCad data from which various architectural changes needed to be made. For example it was to be raised one floor so that parking and guests spaces could be provided on the ground level. Essentially the plan room positions where not alter much however the exterior and interior were redesigned to give this project more impact for the client.
A house designed for a client where the computer graphics were used initially as a design tool and ultimately to give the client a feel for the power of the design.
This house project was undertaken to assist the architectural designer with the visualization and presentation for a competition. Several material variations were experimented with on the exterior with the one shown being the final choice. Careful modeling was conducted to produce the realistic effect of the siding rather than applying a quick "bump map" texture.
Another house working with a designer that provides both the architect and the client with a clear expression of the exterior materials and there relationships. Several variations where explored and this illustrating the final.
An additional house project that we have been involved with. The client had a difficult time to visualize the different types of materials and colors for the exterior of this house. Therefore several studies were made with different color combinations of siding both vertical and horizontal with different materials selected such as wood and stucco.
An experimental project based on the 2D painted images of the Artist Minoru Nomata. He has designed incredible towers and this exercise was to explore them in three dimensions and visualizing spaces which he didn't paint.
The final exterior image is an illustration of the work of Tadao Ando the famous Japanese architect. While looking at various computer graphic image web sites the inspiration to include this project was realized. A tutorial of this project has been created and used to instruct 3D computer graphics at various institutions and workshops.
