This project is designed for Khartoum, Sudan. The main thrust of this house involved designing something unique for this client. The concept evolved from the notion of space on two sides of a wall and interaction with the sun in a way where it is invited into the house but it is also restricted because of the extreme heat. Therefore the walls are deep and the corner conditions formed by the intersection of the two walls has developed interesting opportunities for the discovery of natural light in rooms. The plan has two orientations one following the property line and a few of the room projections following the sun line in order to open up to the sun but not allow to much inside as the heat is very intense in Sudan. Unique cultural features are the double living spaces on first and second floor. The entry space is a true celebration of entry and it has a slight view of the garden space.
