A major restaurant company to us through a design company and asked us to design and produce computer graphics for a three new concept fast-food restaurants.
The initial concept based on the basic food menu teishoku is based on the Chinese Court. The formal shape consists of an arch which forms the circulation and counter eating space. The lower seating area with lattice windows and doors provide the family and group eating area.
The second concept based on a rice and meat dish called donburi draws its image from a Chinese Gate and Temple. Historical references are conjured by the Chinese pattern on the ceiling and it is accompanied by lattice doors, screens and details.
The third concept based on noodles and soup noodles, donburi and gyouza is as a pagoda image. The main focus is a square pagoda shape that forms the center of the shop with a ceiling that gradually ascends until it meets the wall with an illusionary view of the sky.

The second phase of this project also had three conceptual Fast-food restaurants.
The initial concept was called Moon Bridge as this store feature a small portion of a moon bridge. It also has traditional lattice doors and tile floor patterns. Accompanied by a traditional wall mural.
The second concept was entitled the Chinese Interior Room. This space had traditional features of a colonnaded room with lattice in the glass accompanied by lattice surrounding the column and beam entry into the ante-room. A traditional raised seated area with low table was also provided in the ante-room.
The third concept was called the Underground Room which owes it origins to the cave like dwellings found in western China. The unique characteristics are found in the strata of the walls marked by the formal entries into the adjoining rooms. There is a stepped space that appears to be a stair that can be a display for various traditional artifacts. ItŐs bar and table space are found in the center of this narrow room.
Each of these phases consisting of three concepts and images was designed and the accompanying computer graphics done in a two week period.
