SENDAI MEDIA-TECH COMPETITION

This project was created in Mozuna's Office and is a place for Media Access as a Library and Media exhibitions. The project consists of these two major areas of Library 4 floors below ground and exhibition 7 floors above ground. The circle, square and triangle symbolize the three worlds of God, earth and man housed in this building. The buildings image shape is that of a human figure with the upper portion being the head and the body being the exhibition and the lower portion the legs. These spaces house different facilities with the circle serving as an auditorium, the square as an information center and the triangle being the exhibition and from which a hologramic image is projected above the sphere. On the roof the curved shape becomes a screen for projected media. The support facilities are housed in the 4 vertical buildings that are attached to the curved building with a vertical garden serving as a large gate or entry to the building. We finished in 14th place out of some 300 projects with the first place going to Ito Toyoo.
